{"id":569,"date":"2009-10-04T00:12:52","date_gmt":"2009-10-04T04:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gazybrothersfarm.net\/blog\/?p=569"},"modified":"2009-10-06T21:33:56","modified_gmt":"2009-10-07T01:33:56","slug":"fresh-herb-yogurt-dip-with-sliced-fruit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gazybrothersfarm.net\/blog\/fresh-herb-yogurt-dip-with-sliced-fruit\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresh Herb Yogurt Dip with Sliced Fruit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Type of dish: Appetizer, Dessert, Side Dish<\/em><\/p>\n<p>2 cups yogurt cheese (see below)<br \/>\n2 Tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon<br \/>\n2 Tablespoons chopped fresh chives<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon chopped fresh dill<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon sherry vinegar<br \/>\nfreshly ground black pepper<br \/>\ndash allspice<br \/>\n6 fresh pears or apples, any variety, or a mix, sliced<br \/>\nhoney (optional)<\/p>\n<p>Yogurt cheese: Line a sieve with a coffee filter or double thickness of cheesecloth. Suspend the sieve over a deep bowl. Spoon plain yogurt into the filer, cover with plastic wrap, place in the refrigerator, and allow the whey to drip out. When the yogurt has the consistency of soft, velvety spreadable cheese, about 6 hours, scrape into a bowl.<br \/>\nAdd herbs and seasonings to yogurt cheese. Stir. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, and up to 24 hours.
